We are a family-run Optometric office owned by Dr. David and Dr. Susan Csonka, husband and wife, along with daughter, Dr. Elaine Miller.
Dr. David started practicing in his Northway Mall office in 1982 and Dr. Susan joined the practice in the early 90’s. Dr. Elaine was added to the practice shortly after her graduation in May 2010.
In May of 2010, we moved the practice into our newly constructed private office building on Babcock Blvd across from Northway Mall. This expansion has allowed us to provide diagnostic services in a more private setting and has added extra space for our frame displays and dispensary.
The Pittsburgh Pirates
Doctors David and Susan are also the official optometric providers for the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team and travel to spring training each year to examine players on the major and minor league rosters. Dr. Susan Csonka started working with the Pittsburgh Pirates along with Dr. Ed Diamond in 2006. They provided eye examinations and contact lenses fittings (sport Rx). In 2008, Dr. Susan incorporated a computerized sport vision evaluation including Contrast Sensitivity and Distance Depth Perception testing. In 2010, Dr. David Csonka joined Dr. Susan as team eye doctors when Dr. Diamond retired after 19 years of service.
As members of the Sport Vision Section of the American Optometric Association, Drs. Csonka provide contact lenses fittings and sport Rx for the Pirates players in order to improve performance as well as ensure their protection.
In addition to working with the Pirates, the Csonkas help other young athletes in the community by offering comprehensive sports evaluations and services.
